Warning lights and what they mean

    Oil pressure warning light

This light should illuminate when the ignition is switched on and should extinguish as soon as the engine starts. If the light stays on after starting or illuminates during a journey, stop immediately, switch off the engine and check the engine oil level as it could be low. If the level is low, top up straight away as you might have an oil leak.

    Battery charge warning light

This light should illuminate when the ignition is switched on and should turn off as soon as the engine starts. If it does not turn on at all, or if it comes on while driving, your battery may not be charging correctly or there is a fault with your charging system.

    Brake system warning light

If itflashes when driving, reduce the vehicle speed immediately until the light illuminates constantly. If it continues to flash, avoid heavy acceleration and high engine speed, stop the vehicle and have it checked immediately. If it is safe to do so, try stopping the vehicle, switching off the engine, wait two minutes, then restarting the engine to reset the engine management system.
